I will use this page to communicate what's going on in class for the week as well as possible homework assignments. I will update the Homework page by the end of the day on Monday so that you can see what is coming up for the week. You can access the "Homework page" for 7th grade by clicking on the "7th Grade" tab at the top of the website and then "Homework" will be a drop down option. Please understand that the plans are flexible, and I will adjust them as needed throughout the week to best meet students' needs and inquiring minds. Again, always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. Thank you!
CLASS NOVELS: About three times throughout the year, students will be required to purchase a class novel that we will use as a focus for one of our units. I will always give you at least two weeks advance notice to purchase the text. If you are ever unable to buy the text, please give me at least one week advance notice so that I can help you to obtain a copy. Students may buy the book on their electronic device, as long as they have a yellow BYOD form, know how to annotate on their device, and keep it charged for class use. When we are using a class novel for a current unit, students must have their own copy with them every single day.
Novels for 7th Grade (tentatively):
Beowulf: A New Telling by Robert Nye
A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt
*NOTE* Since my units are always evolving to best meet student needs, I might not use all three of the books listed above throughout the year. I DO NOT recommend buying all three of them at the beginning of the year, as they could change.
